The Case for Unproductive Time
Good Morning
Some of the best moments of adulthood are strangely unproductive.
You sit outside a little longer than planned. You have a conversation that doesn’t need a point. You make a second cup of coffee even though the first one was enough. Nothing major happens, but the day feels better because of it.
A lot of adult life is built around usefulness. Errands, schedules, deadlines, maintenance, things that need to be handled before something else can happen. Even rest can start to feel like another task.
That’s why unproductive time can feel so good when it finally arrives. It doesn’t ask for much. It doesn’t need to become a habit, a lesson, or a better version of you.
Sometimes it’s enough for an hour to be pleasant and nothing more.
Have a great weekend.
