Meet Future Me

Meet Future Me

Good Morning.

Future Me is the most capable person I know.

Future Me wakes up early, answers emails immediately, exercises consistently, keeps the house organized, finishes every project ahead of schedule, and never forgets to call someone back. Current Me keeps waiting for that version to arrive.

The funny thing is that Future Me never actually shows up. Every morning, Current Me gets another chance instead. Somehow, despite all the evidence, we continue believing tomorrow's version of ourselves will have more discipline, more energy, and better judgment than today's.

Maybe that's not entirely a bad thing. A little optimism about who we can become is often what gets us to try again. We just shouldn't expect Future Me to do all the work.

Have a great weekend.

The Long Game
One small thing for a longer life

Did You Know

Just 11 minutes of brisk walking a day may help you live longer.

In a review of nearly 200 studies involving more than 30 million people, 75 minutes of moderate physical activity a week, about 11 minutes a day, was associated with a 23% lower risk of dying early. The researchers estimated that if everyone reached this amount of activity, one in ten early deaths could be prevented.

Movement is one of the six factors that shape how well we age. The Worthyest Longevity Index measures all six in 4 minutes. Yours, personalized. Get Your Score →
