Let’s Pick a Date
Good Morning.
“We Should Get Together Sometime”
“We should get together sometime” is one of those sentences whose meaning depends almost entirely on who says it.
Sometimes it means, “Let's find a date.” Sometimes it means, “I'd genuinely like to see you, but neither of us is going to open a calendar right now.” And occasionally, it simply means, “This was nice.”
The easiest way to tell which one you heard is whether anyone mentions an actual day.
Have a great weekend.
Longevity
The Long Game
One small thing for a longer life
Did You Know
Half an hour of strength training a week is linked to a longer life, and more is not better.
Pooling studies of over 250,000 people, researchers found that just 30 to 60 minutes a week of muscle-strengthening activity, lifting, resistance bands, bodyweight moves, was tied to a 10 to 20% lower risk of dying. Interestingly, the benefit peaked around an hour a week and did not keep climbing after that. A little goes a long way, and a lot is not required.
Movement is one of the six factors that shape how well we age. The Worthyest Longevity Index measures all six in 4 minutes. Yours, personalized. Get my score →

Love & Attraction

Why Do We Fall in Love With People Who Are Bad for Us?
Attraction can be powerful enough to make someone seem right for us even when the relationship suggests otherwise. Why we sometimes fall hardest for people who aren't a good fit may have less to do with what we want than how we judge compatibility. Read the full story here.

Knowing What the Signs Really Mean
A symptom, test result, or change in the body doesn't always have a simple explanation. This collection looks at when back pain may warrant further investigation, what can cause an elevated PSA, and how long it typically takes for exercise to produce noticeable results.
When Should You Worry That Your Back Pain Might Be Cancer?
Back pain is extremely common and rarely means cancer, but certain patterns and accompanying symptoms deserve more attention. Here's what can distinguish ordinary back pain from signs worth discussing with a doctor.
What Does a High PSA Test Result Mean for Men?
A high PSA result can understandably raise concerns about prostate health. Here’s what men should know about the test, what can affect the number, and what doctors may consider when interpreting the results.
How Long Does It Take to See Results From Working Out?

Food, Nutrition & Elevated Living

Eating Well Without Going to Extremes
Nutrition advice can sometimes make healthy eating feel more restrictive than it needs to be. This collection looks at a potential drawback of eating too much protein, new research on common food additives and heart health, and how snacks can still fit into a weight-loss plan.
Eating a High-Protein Diet May Have a Surprising Downside, Registered Dietitian Warns
Protein has become one of the biggest priorities in healthy eating, but more isn't necessarily better for everyone. A registered dietitian explains an often-overlooked drawback of pushing protein intake too high.
8 Common Food Additives Linked to High Blood Pressure and Heart Disease
Preservatives help foods last longer, but researchers are examining whether some may come with health tradeoffs. A large observational study found associations between several commonly used preservatives and higher rates of hypertension and cardiovascular disease, though it doesn't establish that the additives caused the increased risk.
How You Can Still Enjoy Snacks and Lose Weight
Trying to lose weight doesn't necessarily mean eliminating snacks or favorite foods. A more flexible approach focuses on how snacks fit into the overall diet rather than treating them as something that automatically works against your goals.

Final Note
This is what we leave you with. A thought to end the day, carry in your pocket, or come back to later. Nothing big. Just something to reflect on.

What the Past Leaves Behind
We rarely begin a new part of life with nothing to go on.
We remember what worked, what cost more than we expected, what we tolerated too long, and what turned out to matter less than we thought.
The past doesn't tell us what to do next.
But it does leave us with more information than we had the last time we had to decide.
Pass It On
Sometimes a thought, an idea, or a perspective connects at just the right time. If something here feels like it might resonate with someone you know, share it with them.
